Heller Industries is looking for an entry level electrical engineer with CAD experience, who can quickly adapt to a dynamic work environment, willing and able to learn new development tools, and attain proficiency in a short time. The individual should have a good understanding of electromechanical systems design and specifications, can select electrical/electronic components, and create electrical drawings and schematics.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical and control system product specifications, including but not limited to interlocks and other safety circuit design, and ESD resistant designs.
- Generate BOMs automatically for purchasing / manufacturing.
- Create custom reports for design tracking and rule checking.
- Design and build test fixtures for engineering and service department.
- Build and test product improvements on in-house ovens.
- Create new P/Ns in system, release and generate ECN’s.
- Generate various engineering documentation as needed.
- Maintain contact with all organization functions, especially engineering & manufacturing.
Qualifications
- BA in Electrical Engineering/Electronics.
- Min. 2-3 years of experience with hands-on electromechanical skills.
- Design experience with basic electronics circuits, grounding, and shielding practices.
- Basic experience with industrial controls for automation equipment.
- Specify electrical/electronic components, including sensors, wiring, and connectors.
- Identify and interact with vendors for outsourcing of subcomponent manufacturing.
- Interface with customers to resolve technical issues and address field escalations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Professional experience working with cross-functional engineering groups.
- Ability to troubleshoot and provide creative solutions to a variety of technical problems.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail and follow-through skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks-Electrical 2D & 3D and OrCAD, Matlab, Labview is a plus.
